OUREA EVENTS: SALOMON SUPPORTS A PRIZE FUND FOR THE 2026 SKYLINE SCOTLAND

For the second consecutive year, headline sponsor Salomon is backing Skyline Scotland with a prize fund, reinforcing the event’s status as one of the UK’s most iconic mountain running festivals and underlining the continued drive to elevate the sport at the highest level.

Salomon’s support extends across 85% of the race programme, with equal prize money awarded to men and women in every supported category. Prize cheques will be presented to the first, second and third athletes across the line, reflecting Skyline Scotland’s ongoing commitment to fairness, visibility and professional standards in trail and mountain running.

Set against the dramatic backdrop of Lochaber and the Nevis Range, Salomon Skyline Scotland has built a global reputation for technical terrain, uncompromising courses and world-class competition. From the exposed ridges of the Ben Nevis Skyline to the fast, runnable downhill of the Aonach Mor Anarchy, the weekend showcases the full spectrum of modern mountain racing. The strengthened prize structure not only rewards elite performance but also signals the growing maturity and profile of the sport.

With participation and international interest continuing to rise, investment in athlete recognition plays an important role in pushing standards higher and inspiring the next generation of competitors.

“I’m delighted that Salomon will be supporting a major prize fund at the 2026 edition of Skyline Scotland. The fund will be split equally between the men’s and women’s fields, and we hope it helps attract top talent, especially from the Scottish running community and across the UK, while taking another step toward supporting the livelihoods of professional and semi-professional athletes. And of course, it adds real colour and excitement for fans and spectators as we watch some properly thrilling racing this September.” Shane Ohly, Event Director, Skyline Scotland
