Run 5K To Win £5k – SportsShoes Launches New Running Challenge

Over the next few weeks, runners can run their way to £5,000 with the launch of the Couch to £5k challenge from online running shoes retailer SportsShoes.

From 8th March 2026 to 17th April 2026, if you run 5K (or further) to the new House of SportsShoes store in Shoreditch, London then you will be entered into a prize draw for the chance to win £5,000. This can be via any route that ends at the store and at any pace.

Alongside the chance to win £5,000, every runner who completes the challenge will also receive a free coffee in store.

The challenge is part of the launch of the House of SportsShoes – SportsShoes’ new flagship experiential running store on Shoreditch High Street. The House of SportsShoes brings the brand’s online running offering into a physical space, combining community events, major brand launches and a high-tech Running Lab offering free gait and performance analysis to help runners find the right shoes for their running style.

Who can take part and how will it work? 

  • The challenge is open to all runners who can complete a 5k distance, aged 18 or over
  • Participants must have a valid Strava account to provide proof of their run, this must be shown to a member of staff in store (recorded Strava run and confirmation screen)
  • Only one entry per person is permitted
  • Participants must be available to travel to London and complete a 5K run (or further) finishing at the House of SportsShoes store in Shoreditch during opening hours
  • An in-store QR code must be scanned along with a valid email address to complete entry into the £5,000 prize draw
  • Participants who complete at least 5K to the House of SportsShoes store and verifies their run in-store will receive one free coffee (subject to availability)
  • After 17th April 2026 one runner will be selected at random to win the £5,000 prize, chosen at random using a verifiable computer process from all verified entries and notified via the email address provided at the point of QR code entry
  • Employees of SportsShoes.com, their families, or anyone professionally connected with the promotion are excluded


Important participation details: 

  • This is a personal challenge, not a race
  • Participants must obey the Highway Code, use pedestrian crossings, and remain aware of their surroundings at all times
  • House of SportsShoes accepts no liability for personal injury, illness, or death sustained during the challenge, except where caused by the Promoter’s negligence
  • By entering, participants warrant that they are in good health and have no medical conditions that would make a 5k run hazardous
