Start Fitness and JogOn announce partnership and aim to remove one million pairs of running shoes from landfill each year

Start Fitness have announced a partnership with Jog On, an organisation dedicated to removing running shoes from landfill. They aim to remove one million pairs of running shoes from landfill each year. The shoes instead will be sent all across the world to support schools, charities and other organisations.

To make it easier for customers to donate their running shoes, Start Fitness have installed a shoe donation box in their Newcastle city centre store. Customers can give their shoes a second chance by dropping off their unwanted running shoes whenever they visit the store.

Alternatively, customers can also send them directly to Jog On via Evri. “We’re thrilled to partner with Jog On and contribute to their mission of reducing waste in landfills,” said a spokesperson for Start Fitness. “We believe that our customers will be excited to participate in such a great initiative, and we’re proud to be a part of it.”
