On: British runner Aimee Pratt joins On

Manchester-based runner Aimee Pratt is a well-known new addition to Swiss sportswear brand On’s growing roster of track athletes.

The On Track roster is growing by another member: 3000m steeplechase expert Aimee Pratt joins the Swiss sportswear company’s athlete line-up.

Since starting to run in 2014, Pratt has gone from strength to strength. She crowned herself British Champion in the 3000m steeplechase in 2020. In 2022, she set British records in both the heat and the final at the World Championships in Eugene to finish in a prestigious seventh place. The 25-year-old returned to Europe and added a solid 4th place at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham and another strong 7th place finish at the European Championships in Munich to her merit list.

Pratt’s competitive nature emerged early: “I was born in Manchester as the youngest of five siblings, so life was pretty competitive from the get-go. My athletic career, however, started by chance. While attending an after-school athletics session, my coach was also present. He watched me run one lap of the 200m indoor track and told me there and then that I could be a world-class athlete. I don’t think it registered with me what he meant at the time. Still, I headed down to join his training group the next week and haven’t stopped progressing in the eleven years since.”

Pratt’s first appearance in On is this weekend as she competes on home ground at the Manchester World Indoor Tour, where the 25-year-old will run the 1500m. The quality of the shoes and running gear was a significant factor in her decision to sign with On.

“When I put the spikes on for the first time, I was amazed, as they immediately felt natural on my feet. The quality and comfort of the apparel and footwear are unmatched by anything I have experienced. I could not be more excited for the future as part of the On family”, Pratt said.
