PAULA RADCLIFFE: CHASING STARS
 FILM MAKES ITS WORLD PREMIERE

  • Abbott World Marathon Majors’ documentary follows British legend’s quest to earn the Six Star medal
  • Former champion took on Tokyo and Boston in 2025

Abbott World Marathon Majors has released an in-depth documentary on marathon champion and former world record holder, Paula Radcliffe (23rd April 2026).

The film, Paula Radcliffe: Chasing Stars follows the three-time London Marathon winner on her quest to earn the coveted Six Star medal, awarded to runners who complete the six original Abbott World Marathon Majors races.

Radcliffe, who retired from the marathon distance in London in 2015, returned to the roads a decade later to complete the Tokyo and Boston marathons in 2025 to complete her Six Star journey.

The feature, released on the AbbottWMM YouTube channel, looks back at a glittering marathon career that includes three triumphs in New York City and winning Chicago in 2002 as well as her trio of London wins, encompassing two world records and a marathon world championship gold in Helsinki.

Paula’s children Isla and Raphael, also feature, with Isla’s own mission to run the 2025 TCS London Marathon a touching footnote after her own battle with cancer in her earlier years.

With Tokyo and Boston outstanding on her list to complete the journey, the world watched as Paula battled long-standing foot issues to get back on the roads and challenge herself to run the two marathons in just six weeks.

Speaking at the premiere in London, Paula said: “The Six Star medal was always something I knew was out there. It was going to be a case of my foot standing up to the demands I was placing on it. But I also wanted to enjoy these races the way thousands of others do every year, and it was incredibly special to be able to do that.”

Paula then watched on in London as Isla confronted her own 26.2-mile battle in an attempt to join her mum as a finisher of the historic race, a decade after being at her side on the finish line as she bade a tearful farewell to the event in 2015.

“We are honored that Paula allowed our team to document this journey after such an amazing career,” said AbbottWMM CEO Dawna Stone. “Seeing a legend of the sport want to get back out there and earn the Six Star medal we know means so much to so many runners is a testament to the power of these races. Our team did a phenomenal job in bringing this story to life and I am excited for everyone to enjoy it.”

Paula Radcliffe: Chasing Stars, is out now on the AbbottWMM YouTube channel.
