RUNNERS HIGH Partners with Urban Sports Club to Bring Science-Based Running Music to Members Across Europe

The running music app expands access through an ongoing partnership with Europe’s largest multi-sport membership platform.

Amsterdam, Netherlands — April 2026RUNNERS HIGH, the Amsterdam-based running music app built on principles from auditory neuroscience and rhythm perception, as well running-cadence research, today announces an ongoing partnership with Urban Sports Club. Through the collaboration, Urban Sports Club members across Germany, France, Spain, Belgium, Portugal, the Netherlands and Austria gain access to the RUNNERS HIGH app, extending their membership into outdoor running with music designed to support focus, rhythm and perceived mental engagement.

RUNNERS HIGH addresses a fundamental gap in the running experience. While running remains one of the most accessible and popular forms of exercise, many runners struggle with focus, rhythm and consistency over time. Research in exercise science shows that music can reduce perceived exertion during endurance exercise by around 10% (Nethery, 2002; Karageorghis & Priest, 2012), while biomechanical studies show that increasing running cadence reduces impact forces and joint loading, factors associated with lower injury risk (Heiderscheit et al., 2011; Schubert et al., 2014). Most music, however, is not designed with these principles in mind.

RUNNERS HIGH approaches music differently. The app produces long-form music, structured using insights from sports science, music physiology and neuroscience-informed audio design. By shaping tempo, frequency and progression, the music is designed to support rhythmic movement, sustained focus and flow-like experiences during runs

“RUNNERS HIGH exists because music has never been designed properly for running,” said Oscar Vermande, CEO of RUNNERS HIGH. “We built our own music formula, grounded in research and real-time testing to support how runners move and think. When people experience progress and ease in running, it often reframes how they think about challenges in everyday life. Partnering with Urban Sports Club allows us to bring this approach to a much broader audience across Europe as part of their everyday fitness routine.

For Urban Sports Club, the partnership extends its membership beyond physical locations into outdoor activity, complementing strength, mobility and studio-based training with a digital running experience.

“RUNNERS HIGH adds a new performance-focused layer to our ecosystem,” said Mohamed Kotb, Director of Growth Marketing with Urban Sports Club. “Running is a key activity for many of our members, and this partnership allows us to support them not only in gyms and studios, but also during their runs.”

How it works

Urban Sports Club members can access RUNNERS HIGH via the Urban Sports Club App Catalog, where they retrieve a personalised voucher granting three months of full access. After redeeming the voucher and creating an account via a dedicated landing page, members download the RUNNERS HIGH iOS app and log in using the same credentials. Vouchers can be renewed, making the partnership an ongoing benefit.

In addition to app access, RUNNERS HIGH and Urban Sports Club will collaborate on community-driven running events and activations across Europe.
