London Landmarks Half Marathon issues Cheer Station Sustainability Guidance Checklist
The London Landmarks Half Marathon is an event born out of a deep love for London, and for the organisers it’s important to reduce the event’s environmental impact as much as they can.
During a discussion at The RIA Spring Gathering last year, one of the key points emerged was that it would be helpful for Event Organisers to have guidance they can share with their charity partners to support their sustainability efforts, including at charity cheer stations. Following this the team at Landmark Events took the initiative and created a resource they are happy to share with their fellow RIA Members.
The document covers points and suggestions around the following:
- Before the event
- Decorations & props
- On the day
- Pack down & waste

The London Landmarks Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 12 April 2026. One of the city’s most heartwarming and visually spectacular running events. London will come alive as runners, supporters and charities unite for an extraordinary day of running, fundraising and community spirit.
The event is organised by pregnancy and baby charity Tommy’s and is 100% not-for-profit to benefit both Tommy’s and the wider charity sector. With more than 750 charity partners involved in this year’s event, runners are predicted to fundraise a staggering £18 million for good causes across London and the UK.
Whilst the 2026 event is sold out, excitement is already building for the 10th edition of the London Landmarks Half Marathon which is scheduled for Sunday 4 April 2027.
