La Sportiva at the World Mountain and Trail Running Championships in Innsbruck-Stubai

The WMTRC are approaching at a fast pace, and La Sportiva has announced its support as silver sponsor

The World Mountain and Trail Running Championships, WMTRC in short, will be held in Innsbruck-Stubai from June 6 to 10, 2023, as the main event and highlight of a 10-day festival starting on the first of the month with the IATF. Athletes from all over the world are going to compete for medals in four different contests – Vertical, Trail Short, Trail Long, Mountain Classic.  The WMTRC combines the different disciplines in a single, high-class mountain- and trail running event to offer athletic action of the highest level.

The event’s history is a very young one, and Innsbruck-Stubai will only be the second edition after its premiere in the Thai city of Chiang Mai in November 2022. The history of the individual contests, however, is a different – and much longer – one.

Mountain running world champions have been crowned since 1985, Trail running world championships have been staged since 2004, and the world’s best ultratrail athletes have been crowned since 2007.

The WMTRC is an event not to be missed – a fact that is undisputed among the people in charge at La Sportiva. “The WMTRC are the main mountain and trail running event, and we are proud to be partners.
