Foundation Member – Red Bull
Inspired by functional drinks from East Asia, Dietrich Mateschitz founded Red Bull in the mid-1980s. He developed not only a new product but also a unique marketing concept and launched Red Bull Energy Drink in Austria in 1987. A completely new product category was born – energy drinks.
Red Bull Energy Drink is appreciated worldwide by top athletes, students, and in highly demanding professions as well as during long drives.
“I use Red Bull for the majority of my key workouts, from high intensity swim, track & gym sessions to long rides & runs. I’m able to get that little bit extra from myself, with an additional amount of energy and focus to crush each and every workout!” Lucy Charles-Barclay, Triathlete
Red Bull founder Dietrich Mateschitz also set up Wings for Life. Wings for Life is a not-for-profit spinal cord research foundation. Every year the charity activates the Wings for Life World Run. It’s a running event like no other – Professional athletes, fun runners and total beginners are all in it together against the Catcher Car. The moving finish line (the Catcher Car) begins its pursuit 30 minutes after the start of the race, passing runners and wheelchair users one after the other until the race is over. The best bit? 100% of entry fees and donations from this event goes directly to spinal cord research to find a cure for spinal cord injury.
“Wings For Life World Run is a totally unique format where you can run, walk or wheel as far as possible raising money for the most amazing charity. No matter what your target distance is, there is no judgement! Being a part of the run is the most important thing and being able to line up against people globally makes it truly special” Tom Evans, Ultrarunner
