RIA Member – GoodGym
GoodGym helps you get fit by doing good. We’re a group of runners, walkers, and cyclists who combine regular exercise with helping our communities. We want to rival the success of gyms, getting people all over the world off treadmills and into their communities.
Launched in 2009, GoodGym operates in 59 areas of England and Wales, with plans for further expansion and an aim to reach all parts of the UK – making getting fit by doing good a mainstream movement.
We help a range of organisations in our local communities, planting trees, making up beds in winter shelters, sorting foodbank donations, chopping wood, picking litter – anywhere a bit of human energy and enthusiasm is needed, you’ll find some GoodGymers happy to help!
We also offer practical and social support to isolated older people We run, walk or cycle to help out with the little things that can make a big difference – picking up prescriptions, changing lightbulbs or a weekly chat and a cup of tea.
We have 21,000 members (and counting) and in November 2022 we achieved our 300,000th good deed.
