SPORTSSHOES.COM EXTENDS KEELY HODGKINSON M11 TRACK CLUB SPONSORSHIP FOR LOS ANGELES 2028 OLYMPICS

SportsShoes.com has announced the extension of its sponsorship of Manchester-based professional track and field team M11 Track Club for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.

M11’s team members include 2024 BBC Sports Personality of the Year and 800m Olympic gold medallist Keely Hodgkinson and Georgia Hunter-Bell and Lewis Davey. The latter were Olympic bronze medallists in the 1,500m and 4 x 400m relay respectively.

SportsShoes.com became the first official partner of M11 in January this year. The partnership aims to create opportunities for athletes, bridge the gap between elite and sub-elite levels, and inspire the next generation of runners and track enthusiasts.

Extending the sponsorship sees SportsShoes.com continue to support the team’s professional athletes in the build up to, and throughout, Los Angeles 2028. M11 Track Club is headed up by retired athlete, Jenny Meadows, and coach, Trevor Painter.

Commenting on the sponsorship, Keely Hodgkinson said: “M11 track club has grown and developed with all of Jenny’s and Trevor’s experiences in the sport and they’ve used that to guide me from a promising junior athlete to a successful senior athlete.

“Seeing M11 get worldwide recognition through industry leading deals with organisations like SportsShoes.com makes me so proud. I am so excited to see what we can do together next on the journey to Los Angeles 2028.”

Following the successes of M11’s running talent at the Paris 2024 Olympics, Jenny Meadows and Trevor Painter were both crowned coach of the year at the 2024 BBC Sports Personality of the Year.

Jenny Meadows said: “The partnership with SportsShoes.com has allowed us to show some of the behind the scenes of athletics and the highs and the lows of athletes’ journeys. It highlights that every level of running it is about community and being part of something bigger.

“We couldn’t be more excited to continue to work with SportsShoes.com over the next three years to Los Angeles 2028. We are all locked in to the journey and hopefully even more success.”

As part of the sponsorship deal, all M11 athletes, including those not affiliated with any brands, automatically become part of SportsShoes.com’s Nike Athletes in Residence Programme, helping them advance their elite running careers.

SportsShoes.com’s brand architect, Gavin Bannister, commented: “We are thrilled to extend our partnership with M11 up to and through the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.

“This partnership aims to not only support emerging talent, but also ensure the ongoing development of world-class athletes. It has been fantastic working with M11 across this past year and we are excited to support Jenny, Trevor and the team to even more glory. “
