In an iconic moment for parkrun’s global expansion, Brooklyn Bridge parkrun will launch on Saturday 23 August.

The 5k route takes place in the shadow of the landmark bridge, and, as with all parkruns, is open to all to walk, jog, run and volunteer.

Every weekend, at over 2,600 locations around the world, more than 400,000 people take part in parkrun events.

parkrun, a UK-based global charity, is two years into an ambitious five year strategy, striving to be recognised as a world-leader in its field, and not only to grow events and participation, but to grow well; reaching out to those who may have the most gain from regular access to free, low barrier to entry physical activity opportunities.

With incredible views, taking in Lower Manhattan, East River, the Statue of Liberty, and not forgetting Brooklyn Bridge itself, we love that parkrun is coming to New York, so that locals can enjoy the parkrun magic that so many of us already enjoy.
