RaceNation and Women in Tri UK Unite to Drive Female Participation in Triathlon

Triathlon is more than just a sport; it’s a testament to endurance, resilience and personal discovery. For many women, the biggest challenge in triathlon starts well before the swim, the bike and the run.

In a strategic move to foster inclusivity within the sport, leading event registration and fundraising platform RaceNation has joined forces with volunteer-led charity Women in Tri UK to tackle one of triathlon’s most persistent issues: getting more women to the start line.

Women in Tri UK, who have been helping more women access the sport since 2022 through financial support and advocacy, co-produced a report that found women made up just 37% of UK triathlon participants in 2024—a figure that drops significantly at longer distances. The same research showed that 84% of women would be more likely to enter races that feel welcoming and inclusive, indicating a clear opportunity for organisers to create events that better support and resonate with women.

In response to this, RaceNation and Women in Tri UK have announced a new partnership and platform integration, using technology that is fully optimised to start solving many of the problems identified. As a platform that processes hundreds of thousands of event registrations each year, RaceNation is uniquely positioned to drive meaningful change with Women in Tri UK at scale across the industry.

From flexible payment options that reduce financial barriers, to mobile-first logistics and account crediting tools that better accommodate transfers and deferrals, RaceNation equips organisers with the tools they need to keep more women on the path to participation. Now, with a built-in accreditation process with Women in Tri UKunique to the RaceNation platform—accreditation is automatically displayed at key points throughout the registration journey, making an organiser’s commitment to inclusivity visible from the very first click.

For entrants: it builds trust and the confidence to take part
For organisers: it offers a competitive edge powered by visible inclusion
For triathlon: it marks a meaningful paddle, pedal, and push forward

This partnership is a powerful example of how technology can be used to implement systemic change at scale and build a more inclusive future for the sport.
