361° Unveils the Taroko 5: Escape to the Trails with Unmatched Cushioning and Grip
361° has announced the launch of the Taroko 5, a new trail running shoe from its 2025 Fall/Winter collection. Engineered to take runners from their doorstep to the trail, the Taroko 5 delivers premium cushioning in an ultra-lightweight design. This new style promises outstanding traction and a plush, grippy feel for every step of the journey.
The Taroko 5 introduces several key technologies designed for off-road comfort and performance. At the core of the shoe is the new CQT EXTREM3 LITE midsole, a bouncy supercritical PEBA foam. This technology provides superior cushioning and shock protection with a fast recovery that yields a 75% energy return rate after loading. The foam’s lower density and light weight contribute to a light and snappy feel underfoot.
For confident footing on the trails, the Taroko 5 is equipped with a GEKKOGRIP outsole. This rubber provides excellent traction, helping the foot grip the ground and propel forward effectively on toe-off.
The shoe’s upper combines performance with sustainability. The mesh material is constructed with 56% recycled yarn, offering great ventilation for longer miles while being more environmentally friendly.
Comfort and a secure fit are enhanced by several design features.
The Taroko 5 also includes user-focused details like a tongue lace garage to prevent snags , narrower laces for an easier lacing experience, and a less stiff, integrated toe cap for protection.
