BRITISH ATHLETICS: WORLD-CLASS INDOOR ATHLETICS RETURNS TO BIRMINGHAM IN 2023
- The UK Athletics Indoor Championships Birmingham will take place on the 18-19 February and the Birmingham World Indoor Tour Final on 25 February at the Utilita Arena Birmingham

The UK Athletics Indoor Championships Birmingham and Birmingham World Indoor Tour Final will be held at the Utilita Arena Birmingham in February 2023.
In the first athletics event returning to Birmingham since this summer’s Commonwealth Games, the UK Athletics Indoor Championships will take place on the weekend of 18-19 February and will be the official Trial for the European Indoor Championships in Istanbul, Turkey next March. With places on the Great Britain and Northern Ireland team up for grabs, as well as the prestigious UK titles on the line, it is set to be another exciting fixture for athletics fans to experience in the West Midlands.
The Birmingham World Indoor Tour Final will play host to the last event in the prestigious global series on Saturday 25 February. The Tour is a seven-event series showcasing the worlds best athletes as they seek to take home the Series title, as well as securing wildcards for the World Athletics Indoor Championships which take place in Glasgow, Scotland in 2024.
The Utilita Arena Birmingham hosted both of UK Athletics’ major indoor events in 2022 which saw some historic moments including Keely Hodgkinson’s British indoor 800m record – which was also the fastest indoor 800m performance by a woman in 20 years – at the Indoor Grand Prix.

“The UK Athletics Indoor Championships is always a special fixture in the calendar, and Birmingham has become a superb host of the event in recent years. Winning a UK title is incredibly important to the athletes, and we look forward to hosting hundreds across the sport at the two-day event.”
“These are events which are not to be missed, and they kickstart and big year for athletics as athletes prepare for a number of majors including the European Indoor Championships (Istanbul), the World Para Athletics Championships (Paris) and the World Athletics Championships (Budapest).”
